The carpet had clearly not been vacuumed any time recently or with thoroughness. We got to room 119 and first impressions continued. He explained that they have been having unexplained problems with the system. The only reason we met him was that we were directed to because the electronic key system wasn't working. The young man at the service desk, while friendly, was dressed in a t-shirt, making us wonder if he even worked there or was just filling in. A smell of mustiness and cigarettes filled the air. Our initial impression of the property was the welcome mat which was dirty and stained, with the interior mat in similar condition. We got in after 8pm after a long day of travel. We stayed at the Murphy Hampton Inn on Saturday, 9/2.
